Melissa Brewer is the Gun Owners’ Choice Candidate for HD 130

I am delighted to endorse Melissa Brewer for State Representative in PA House District 130.

Representative Dave Maloney is retiring, leaving an open seat in the district.

He leaves behind a powerful legacy of staunchly defending Second Amendment rights and supporting hunting and sportsmen. Gun owners cannot afford to let this seat slip—so now is the critical moment to rally behind and elect a strong, pro-gun candidate who will continue that fight.

Melissa was born and raised in Berks County, where she has lived her entire life. She believes the most important job for a legislator is supporting our Constitution and protecting our essential liberties.

Most importantly for gun owners, Melissa Brewer earned a perfect 100% on GOA’s 2026 candidate survey—leaving no doubt about her unwavering commitment to our Article 1, Section 21 rights. She has also been endorsed by Dave Maloney, a powerful signal that she can be trusted to stand firm in defense of our God-given freedoms.

Here is what Melissa has to say in his own words about the importance of our constitutionally protected rights:

The right to keep and bear arms is protected by the Second Amendment. This Constitutional right guarantees an individual’s right to possess and carry weapons. This right is not a provision of militia service exclusively. The right is intended to provide for self-defense of oneself and in the context of one’s home, property and personal property. The right also extends to bearing arms for protection against threats, domestic and otherwise, as well as hunting and sporting.

Melissa Brewer also told me that she believes that firearms are instruments essential to the preservation of our Republic, which we know is the intent of the Second Amendment and our Pennsylvania Article 1, Section 21 rights.

For all these reasons, GOA is endorsing Melissa Brewer for State Representative in Pennsylvania’s 130th House district.
